Growing up in a local logging coastal community, I grew up in a conservative way of life, but it was not conservation minded. I grew up learning the lay of the land and resources in the Hood Canal of the Olympic mountains. This temperate rain forest usually gets 130” of rain a year while growing the world’s largest trees. It was not until high school natural resources classes that I started to understand the brevity of needing to conserve our resources and even more so in college through environmental education classes.
Conservation has so many facets. Sustainability, cool clean water, carbon emissions, climate change, etc. are all things we need to survive, yet we did not know how we would impact them somehow? Thinking about our future is crucial. Seems like we have had a knee jerk reaction to the issues related to our planet right now.
Simply planting trees will not save our earth, sorry, but that is a single act without the right infrastructure because we have not invested in our tree nursery growing operations. The most advance companies that exist with the right nursery stock to even plant trees are industrial landowner companies like Rayonier Inc. and Weyerhaeuser because they have state re-planting laws to abide by and the genetics to handle multiple tree species per zone.
We have a complex conservation issue on our human hands that needs to be a multipronged effort with many hands on deck. The solution to carbon emissions and climate change has been happening with the most natural resource called mass timber (glued together wood). We are finding innovative ways to build with wood and replant trees per the state land laws. The mass timber world has grown to the biggest international conferences in Portland, Oregon each year. We can build taller with wood because building codes changed in multiple countries, research has shown seismic and fire ratings that are better than predicted, and natural buildings are taking as a hot take in residential areas finally.
Ways we can celebrate or help conserve the earth by:
Celebrating Arbor and Earth Day.
Volunteering in our local parks.
Buying Certified Wood Products.
Working from home and driving less.
Supporting organizations that are nonprofits to better the earth.
Gardening or taking grass away and replacing it with meadow flowers.

Do not let uncreative people bother you… here’s why…
For example…
Uncreative people do not watch tell-alls on their favorite designers on the fashion channel to watch their creative process unfold on the screen so that they could go foward one day and replicate the process when they had access to that type of equipment for themselves. Uncreative people rely on places like Walmart, Target, and Old Navy to fulfill all of their fashion fantasies that they do NOT have to begin with. They just want clothes with enough pockets that function like clothes and until it costs too much, they really don’t care where it comes from.
Do not let uncreative people in your life bother you - they simply have not opened up that aspect of their mind and are unable to properly see the vision without your actual visual assistance… which means you have to actually just do it to show them.
how to 🌱 grow while conserving 💵
Ask any aspiring entrepreneur what’s holding them back and they’re going to tell you…
And if you’re tired of money holding you back, pay attention because life doesn’t have to be that way. I firmly believe that every single person walking the face of this earth has been blessed with a special talent and it is up to them to take that talent and nurture and propel it into the world and fulfill whatever purpose we choose and that above all, money shouldn’t mean a thing…
but it does 😭 so here are some ways to save 💵.
Grab your business bestie + check your favorite apps! You’ll be looking for options that allow you to create “teams” or for “family plans” so that you can save money on your favorite apps. There’s only so much room on my youtube plan but what about apps like Canva, Trello, and Asana?
